Job summary

SCN BestCo is seeking a Principal Product Development Engineer to lead formulation and process development for OTC and supplement products in confectionery formats. You will guide from feasibility through launch, mentor scientists, and shape scalable, regulated product platforms.

You will collaborate with Quality, Operations, Regulatory, and Commercial to ensure robust, market‑ready formulations with stage‑gate discipline and rigorous validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a pharmaceutical science, chemical engineering, food science, chemistry, or related scientific discipline.
• 10 years’ experience in product development engineering, science, or a similar function.
• Experience applying statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, ML, data mining to drive solutions.

Responsibilities

• Seek and evaluate new ingredients and technologies for confectionery OTC and supplement markets.
• Translate product briefs into formulation strategies that meet dose targets and manufacturability.
• Prepare samples, test, and analyze attributes and link results to stability and scale‑up decisions.
• Execute DOEs to identify critical drivers and improve scale‑up repeatability with analysis.
• Develop partnerships to generate scalable opportunities for product platforms and manufacturability.
• Engage cross‑functional teams to resolve development issues and drive commercialization readiness.
• Establish and maintain CPP/CQA strategy across programs and monitor capability.
• Set and approve validation standards and CPV expectations with Operations/Quality.
• Govern phase/gate standards and audit Gate readiness across programs.
• Own product stability strategy to support scale‑up decisions and commercialization readiness.
• Mentor peers on confectionary product knowledge and best practices.
