Job summary

NVIDIA seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead the architecture and operation of a massive global compute platform, spanning on-prem and cloud.

You will shepherd scalable AI inference infra, drive automation, capacity planning, and migrations to modern Kubernetes orchestration. This role requires deep Kubernetes expertise, Go/Python coding, and strong leadership across autonomous teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, Math, or related field or equivalent experience.
15+ years in compute platform engineering, SRE, or systems architecture with automation at scale.
Deep Kubernetes architecture expertise and VMs in Kubernetes (KubeVirt/OpenShift).
Knowledge of GPUs and high-speed networking with large-scale fault mitigation.
Experience running global bare metal, VM, and cloud with GitOps (ArgoCD or similar).
Proficiency in Go and/or Python, plus Terraform and configuration management.
Strong leadership to influence tech direction across autonomous teams.

Responsibilities

Define Platform Architecture for a global compute platform with thousands of nodes, VMs, and containers.
Operationalize frontier AI infrastructure and telemetry for pre-release GPU systems.
Drive capacity planning, cloud bursting, and alternative compute architectures.
Design self-service APIs and Terraform/OpenTofu providers for teams.
Lead complex migrations of legacy workloads to modern Kubernetes orchestration.
