Oracle is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the OCI Edge Security team in Austin, Texas. The role focuses on the architecture and development of the Web Application Firewall (WAF) platform, protecting customer applications from web-based threats while ensuring high performance and availability.

This position requires strong experience in developing large-scale distributed services and expertise in modern technologies. The ideal candidate will also have a deep understanding of security practices and demonstrate strong leadership in automation and technical strategy.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of experience building production software systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Go, Python, C++, or Rust.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems design and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture of cloud-scale backend services for OCI’s WAF.
• Design highly available policy management and analytics platforms.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical strategy across organizations.
