Job summary

NewRez LLC in Dallas, TX is seeking a Principal Cloud Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data products, pipelines, and core data platform components powering analytics, ML, and applications.   • Hands-on skills with Python, SQL, Spark, or cloud-native data processing tools.

  • Knowledge of data quality, metadata, lineage, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving, and communication and collaboration skills.

Principal Cloud Data Engineer

The Principal Cloud Data Engineer is a hands‑on role liaising with product organization and product owners to design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable data products, pipelines, and core data platform components that power analytics, machine learning, and applications. The role plays a key part in delivering high‑quality data across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain high‑throughput data pipelines and ingestion workflows.
  • Implement transformation logic, data quality checks, and governance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with platform architecture and product teams to support the foundational data platform roadmap.
  • Optimize data flows for performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Monitor platform health and troubleshoot ingestion or processing issues.
  • Build reusable components that scale across markets and business units.
  • Effectively and accurately convey information to others.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of data engineering/development experience.
  • Strong hands‑on skills with Python, SQL, Spark, or cloud‑native data processing tools.
  • Experience with data lakes, lakehouses, or cloud‑based warehouses.
  • Knowledge of data quality, metadata, lineage, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining relationships across the organization and with customers.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills; consultative and collaborative work style.
  • High learning agility with the ability to learn and integrate business variables and new systems and platforms.
  • Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Strong technical aptitude and business acumen.
  • All employees are required to have smart phones that meet Company security standards with the ability to install apps such as Microsoft Authenticator; employment will be contingent on this requirement.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Work on‑site at the assigned office location. Regular and punctual attendance is required. Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand. Work in a cubicle hub within a noisy environment. Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods, with constant repetitive motions such as typing and managing phone calls. Constantly communicate effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
