Job summary

ERM is seeking a Principal Technical Consultant, Civil Engineer to lead complex infrastructure projects across energy, manufacturing and industrial sectors. You will shape project strategy, mentor engineers, and drive sustainable designs aligned with ESG priorities.

You will manage site layout, grading and drainage from concept through construction, while developing drawings, specifications and reports. This role requires strong communication and leadership in a dynamic, travel-heavy environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive civil engineering experience.
• Experience in site design, grading, drainage, and permitting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Hydraflow or related tools.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and in teams.
• Strong analytical and technical-report writing skills.
• Excellent communication and knowledge of local codes and permitting requirements.
• Driver's License required for frequent travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and oversight of site layout, grading, drainage and infrastructure from concept to construction.
• Develop and review construction drawings, specs and contract docs.
• Perform engineering analyses and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Support environmental and compliance-related engineering work across projects.
• Mentor junior staff and promote technical excellence.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
