Job summary

UserWise Services in the United States seeks a Principal Server Engineer to own the backend systems powering our live games with 1M+ DAU. You will design and maintain Go/Python services, optimize database schemas in PostgreSQL, and drive horizontal scaling for low-latency, reliable play.

You will lead performance profiling, memory management, and incident response, partner with SRE and game teams, and implement caching layers (Redis/KeyDB/Memcached) and fast serialization (Protobuf/MsgPack).

Qualifications

• Deep Go & Python expertise and performance tuning.
• Strong PostgreSQL fluency with scalable schema design.
• Experience profiling and removing bottlenecks in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Go/Python backend services for live, high-traffic game titles.
• Own database schema design and query performance across PostgreSQL systems.
• Drive horizontal scaling strategies to optimize CPU/memory footprint and reduce lock contention.
• Profile memory leaks, CPU spikes, and deadlocks in production; lead root-cause investigations.
• Architect and maintain in-memory caching/state layers (Redis/KeyDB/Memcached).
