Overview
We’re seeking a bold and innovative Executive Development Principal to help shape the future of leadership at AWS. In this role, you will design and deliver new executive development strategies that scale—strategies that reflect how leaders of the future truly grow, learn, and transform in today’s fast-changing environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive executive development framework that accelerates readiness for AWS's most critical leadership roles, complementing AWS's philosophy of on-the-job learning.
- Create innovative assessment and development approaches that provide actionable insights on leadership potential and readiness, while leveraging real business challenges as development opportunities.
- Build technology-enabled solutions that scale development while maintaining consistency with PXT tenets and supporting AWS's rapid pace of change.
- Partner with senior leaders to identify high-potential talent and create targeted development plans that bridge the gap between self-service development and high-touch executive programs.
- Develop and manage mechanisms to track executive readiness and succession depth for critical AWS roles, ensuring a robust leadership pipeline.
- Lead stakeholder management across AWS leadership, ensuring alignment between development initiatives and business needs.
- Analyze program effectiveness through multiple lenses (participant experience, business impact, talent outcomes) and drive insights and recommendations to AWS leadership on talent pipeline health.
- Create measurement frameworks to assess ROI and impact of development investments, demonstrating the value of accelerated leadership development.
- Design experiential learning approaches that maximize on-the-job development while providing structured support and acceleration for high-potential leaders.
- Collaborate with PXT and business leaders to integrate executive development initiatives with broader talent management strategies and organizational goals.

Collaborate with C-suite and senior leaders to influence AWS's leadership pipeline, blending executive development, talent assessment, and strategic business partnership to deliver transformational development experiences.
About The Team
The AWS Executive Development team is part of the global Talent Solutions organization supporting all AWS businesses worldwide. The role works alongside peers across talent management, leadership development, culture, transformation, strategic workforce planning and research science. You will partner with business and HR leaders across the organization to deliver results for the customer.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in talent management, leadership development, or related field
- Experience designing and implementing leadership development programs at scale
- Strong project management skills with track record of delivering complex initiatives
- Experience analyzing data and metrics to drive program improvements
- Experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep expertise in adult development, organizational behavior, learning sciences, or a related field
- Proven experience building and delivering large-scale leadership development initiatives in a global, matrixed enterprise
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and align development efforts to strategic priorities
- Exceptional consulting, facilitation, and storytelling skills
- The ability to influence without authority and build credibility with executive stakeholders
- A bias for action and the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity with clarity and confidence
- Advanced degree preferred (e.g., in Organizational Psychology, Adult Development, Education, Business, or related discipline)

The base pay for this position ranges from $134,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
