Job summary

NVIDIA Corporation seeks a Principal Architect to lead the research agenda for how AI systems communicate at scale. You will define scope from scratch, publish original work, and translate breakthroughs into production-grade software across GPUs, DPUs, NICs, and storage.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in systems software and/or networking with deep expertise in high-performance networking and GPU-accelerated systems.
• PhD or MS with equivalent research track record in CS/CE/EE.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, memory hierarchies, DMA engines, and OS networking.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Rust and Python; ability to translate research into production-grade software.

Responsibilities

• Set long-term technical vision for distributed AI communication systems across GPUs, storage, and nodes.
• Conduct original research and prototyping of next-generation networking solutions (RDMA, NVLink, GPUDirect).
• Drive hardware-software co-optimization with GPU, DPU, NIC, and switches.
• Investigate bottlenecks in communication runtimes for large-scale AI workloads.
• Integrate networking capabilities into AI serving stacks (vLLM, SGLang, TensorRT-LLM).
• Publish findings, represent NVIDIA in industry forums, and mentor senior engineers.
