Principal Architect II – United States
This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping the enterprise data, analytics, and AI architecture across the organization. You will define strategic roadmaps, design scalable and secure data platforms, and oversee AI/ML integration to enable advanced analytics and informed decision‑making. The role requires collaborating with engineering, product, and business teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions. You will guide complex initiatives, evaluate emerging technologies, ensure compliance with governance standards, and mentor a team of architects. This position blends technical mastery with strategic vision, driving innovation while delivering measurable business impact.
Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain the enterprise data and AI architecture roadmap aligned with organizational goals
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data platforms, analytics solutions, and AI/ML infrastructure
- Define standards and best practices for data governance, metadata management, and model lifecycle management
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to integrate data and AI capabilities seamlessly
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to inform strategic decisions and drive innovation
- Oversee architectural reviews, solution designs, and proof‑of‑concept initiatives for complex data projects
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements
- Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing team of data and AI architects
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics, and AI/ML systems, including leadership of architecture teams
- Proven expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), data lakes, data warehouses, and real‑time data processing
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), MLOps, and model deployment strategies
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) and modern data stack concepts (data mesh, data fabric)
- Familiarity with Databricks ecosystem and relevant certifications in cloud architecture or AI/ML technologies
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Understanding of data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities with a collaborative mindset
