Vantor seeks a Principal Applied Scientist to lead computational modeling, simulations, and analytical methods for UTS environments. The role requires developing high-fidelity models, validating assumptions, and guiding risk-based decisions for mission survivability.

You will work with data scientists and engineers on on-site efforts in Herndon, VA. Candidates must hold a TS/SCI clearance and demonstrate expertise in physics-based and agent-based modeling, probabilistic methods, and ML

Qualifications

• Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience in computational modeling, statistics, and data science.
• Experience developing high-fidelity simulations and analytical frameworks for UTS environments.
• Clear ability to communicate technical concepts in writing and in person.

Responsibilities

• Serve as scientific lead for computational modeling and simulation across the program.
• Establish methodologies to represent UTS phenomena within analytic and simulation environments.
• Design, develop, and validate complex agent-based models of UTS interactions.
• Develop agent behaviors, environmental conditions, and emergent system dynamics.
• Collaborate with data scientists to ensure machine learning models use meaningful features.
• Assess data quality and apply uncertainty quantification to outputs.
