What You’ll Do

Groundswell is looking for experienced Appian Consultants to provide leadership for our delivery teams and act as a trusted advisor to our clients. Principal Appian Consultants help scale our business by providing expert guidance on solution delivery and designing and integrating cutting‑edge Appian solutions into our clients’ architecture. This role will mentor delivery teams, work on the most technically challenging Appian programs, and implement internal processes and tools to improve efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead implementation teams through complex technical solutions with Appian and related technologies.
• Guide clients on Agile, QA, and governance for multi‑app platform implementations.
• Support design, development, and test activities across multiple client projects.
• Support large‑scale implementation teams consisting of multiple development pods.
• Guide clients on architecture design, platform scalability, configuration management, DevSecOps, and other program initiatives.
• Ensure solutions are built for scale and performance.
• Create and document implementation best practices and knowledge‑base articles.
• Provide thought leadership on process improvement.
• Support internal solutions, infrastructure, and tools.
• Mentor, train, and enable resources.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Appian solutions.
• 5+ years of related IT experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or related area.
• Active Lead Certification.
• Expert experience with Appian delivery using an Agile methodology.
• Strong technical design and implementation and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts easily.
• Active listening skills to gather key information from partners.
• Analytical and strategic foresight.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work in a high‑paced environment and multitask.
• Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB).
• Experience with web services and integrations (REST/SOAP, Mule, IIB, Fusion).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence Polygraph.
• Preference for active TS clearance.
• Must be local to the DC Metro area and able to report to SCIF location.

• UI/UX Design.
