Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Principal-level individual contributor to lead the secure enablement of Microsoft 365 Copilot and enterprise AI capabilities within its Cyber Team. You will own end-to-end technical strategy, architecture, and operationalization of AI data protection and compliance controls across Purview, Defender, and M365 security services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in cybersecurity, engineering, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and Defender.
Strong background in data protection and DLP technologies.
Experience with AI governance and Copilot security controls.
Scripting and automation skills in PowerShell, Python, and Power Automate.

Responsibilities

Lead AI security architecture for Copilot and enterprise AI controls across Purview, Defender, and M365.
Define durable security patterns for securing LLM-enabled workflows that other teams can adopt.
Harden Copilot platform configurations and ensure least-privilege, fail-safe operation.
Develop AI risk monitoring, alerting, and runbooks for incident response.
Ensure controls are audit-ready, regulator-defensible, and operationally sustainable.
