Job summary

The E.W. Scripps Company seeks a Lead AI Architect to design and implement enterprise-scale AI solutions with a strong engineering foundation. You will drive agentic systems, tool ecosystems, and model provider integrations while translating business requirements into production-grade systems.

You will mentor peers, define validation criteria, and ensure security and responsible AI practices across its AI platforms.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in AI/agent development or related field.
• Experience with AI/agent development and enterprise AI solutions preferred.
• Certifications in AWS, Azure, or cloud AI services are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and own AI solution architectures spanning agentic workflows and multi-model orchestration.
• Lead design and deployment of complex RAG architectures and vector database strategies.
• Architect MCP servers and tool integrations with function calling and structured output schemas.
• Drive integration with model providers and define standards for model selection, routing and fallback.
• Establish engineering patterns for AI observability, evaluation frameworks, and prompt security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated AI solutions within existing software ecosystems.
• Ensure scalability, security, and maintainability through solid software architecture principles.
• Mentor peers and establish best practices in AI engineering and tooling.
• Present technical solutions to senior stakeholders in a clear, compelling way.
• Uphold security, compliance, and responsible AI standards, addressing OWASP LLM Top 10 risks.
