Expedia Group is hiring a senior ML engineer to build and scale agentic AI systems that automate complex tasks and enhance traveler experiences. You will design multi-step autonomous agents, integrate LLMs with tools and APIs, and shape production-grade architectures across teams.

You will mentor senior engineers, address prompt engineering and safety considerations, and stay ahead of AI research trends to inform our AI-first travel platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related industry experience
• Experience designing and deploying agentic AI systems (e.g., ReAct, tool-calling agents) in production or research settings
• Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks; experience with LLM APIs and orchestration libraries

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evaluate multi-step agentic AI systems
• Research and implement agentic architectures (ReAct, reflection loops, chain-of-thought)
• Develop and maintain agent orchestration frameworks and handle task decomposition
• Integrate LLMs with external tools, APIs, databases, and code execution environments
• Define evaluation frameworks for agentic systems across benchmarks
• Lead collaboration with product, engineering, and research teams to translate requirements
• Identify and mitigate risks in agentic systems (prompt injection, hallucinations)
• Stay current with agentic AI landscape and guide technical direction
• Mentor senior ML engineers and scientists on agentic design patterns
