SACA: Southern Arizona Community Academy
The Part-Time Principal is the academic leader of Southern Arizona Community Academy of this small school in Tucson, Arizona. The school serves approximately 40 students onsite and approximately 40 students online, a scope that allows one leader to know every student and every teacher by name. This position leads the instructional staff, conducts formative walkthroughs and formal evaluations, works with the team to implement the policies and procedures set forth in the staff and student handbooks, and meets with parents as needed. The schedule is flexible but fixed, set in advance with the Director and held consistently so that staff, students, and families know when the Principal is on site.
The Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for this position are the schoolwide credits earned rate (CER), completion of the required evaluation and walkthrough cycle for every assigned teacher, and documented follow up on each walkthrough. Success is defined by a school roster averaging 0.5 monthly credits earned per student and by every teacher receiving observation and feedback on the established cadence.
