Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Server, including clustering.
• Experience with VMware.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery and high availability in cloud environments – OCI and Microsoft Azure.
• U.S. Citizenship and residency required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Systems Administration across the account and provide technical/guidance to team members.

• Develop migration strategies, roadmaps, and BOMs for Windows environments.
• Ensure Windows solutions integrate with Disaster Recovery practices.
• Collaborate with account teams to transfer operational knowledge and support transition planning.
• Participate in design reviews to validate DR objectives and maintain DR docs and runbooks.
• Monitor and evaluate Windows DR infrastructure capacity across on-premises and cloud environments.

Position Summary

The Principal Windows Systems Support role provides ongoing Systems Administration support, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, applications, and connectivity components for Windows environments across multiple locations. This role provides technical support and advises on the use of programming tools, database systems, and networks.

Operational responsibilities include remediation of daily incident tickets, system compliance, system run enhancement, testing, staging, policy/procedure enhancement, client contact coordination, and operational recommendations to address availability and reliability issues on Windows systems, while playing a lead role in shaping Windows systems strategy across the company.

This role splits its time between the Business Availability team – designing highly available Windows infrastructure and reducing reliance on planned maintenance windows – and the Disaster Recovery practice, ensuring Windows solutions are validated against recovery objectives.

Core Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Plays a lead role in Systems Administration across the account, building on responsibilities such as:
• "May serve as team lead, allocating work assignments, ensuring work-load balance across the team and providing technical and procedural guidance for less experienced team members."
• Ensures alignment of systems design and strategy with corporate business requirements and objectives.

Business & Systems Alignment

• Applies extensive knowledge of the business availability in systems design, development, and support.
• Translates long-term business requirements into systems and infrastructure design.

Business Availability Responsibilities

• Assesses and documents current-state Windows solution architectures.
• Designs and recommends high-availability Windows solutions, including Microsoft Server clustering and VMware-based infrastructure, aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Develops migration strategies, implementation roadmaps, and associated bills of materials for Windows environments.
• Ensures proposed Windows solutions can be effectively integrated into the Disaster Recovery practice.
• Collaborates with account teams to gather operational knowledge and support transition planning.

Disaster Recovery Responsibilities

• Participates in design reviews to validate that Windows solutions can meet recovery objectives.
• Reviews and maintains DR documentation, runbooks, and supporting artifacts for Windows systems.
• Supports coordination and execution of planned DR testing activities.
• Monitors and evaluates Windows DR infrastructure capacity across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• BA/BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Expert-level expertise in Windows systems administration and enterprise infrastructure design.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and advise across the organization on complex, business-critical issues.
• Experience with Microsoft Server, including clustering.
• Experience with VMware.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery and high availability in cloud environments – Oracle OCI and Microsoft Azure.
• U.S. Citizenship and U.S. residency required.
