Job summary

RTX Corporation is seeking a procurement professional for the Mechanical Procurement Team in the ASDS unit. The role focuses on sourcing, supplier management, and PO lifecycle for fast-paced, critical programs.

Experience with DoD procurement, FAR/DFARS, and security-clearance eligibility is required. The position involves collaboration with Programs, Operations, Engineering, and Planning to ensure on-time delivery, with opportunities to lead supplier reviews and advance negotiations.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 3 years experience.
  • DoD procurement experience and knowledge of FAR/DFARS; ability to place Purchase Orders over TINA threshold.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Place purchase orders of medium complexity in accordance with FAR/DFARS and corporate compliance.
  • Support negotiation strategies and formal negotiations (price, delivery, terms, T&C).
  • Perform price and cost analysis techniques in support of proposals.
  • Nurture relationships with multi-tier subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with Programs, Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Planning to support manufacturing and on-time delivery.
  • Maintain POs to ensure accurate and timely supplier delivery information.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with high-risk or key suppliers.
  • Work effectively in a remote/virtual environment.
  • Manage duties with minimal supervision.
  • Support a team culture that supports each other.

The Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) Strategic Business Unit has a great opportunity for an experienced Procurement Professional on the Mechanical Procurement Team in a highly collaborative role where you will have the opportunity to lead in the sourcing and acquisition of materials and management of supplier performance – the entire purchase order life cycle for fast paced, critical programs. You will manage several supplier relationships necessary to support various programs for the factory material needs.

What You Will Do:
  • Preparation and issuance of RFIs, RFPs.
  • Letter Subcontracts, PR to PO execution and management.
  • Place purchase orders of medium complexity in accordance with all regulatory (FAR/DFAR) and corporate compliance requirements.
  • Support negotiation strategies and support formal negotiations (Price, Delivery, Scope, Terms & Conditions, and other agreements).
  • Perform price and cost analysis techniques in support of proposals, compliantly.
  • Nurture professional business relationships with multi-tier subcontractors.
  • Work closely with the Programs and other functional groups (Operations, Quality, Engineering, Program Management, Planning, etc.) to achieve objectives to support manufacturing, and on-time delivery.
  • Maintain POs to ensure accurate and timely supplier delivery information.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with high-risk or key suppliers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote/virtual environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage job responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Qualifications you Must Have:
  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum 3 years experience.
  • DoD procurement experience and knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS) ability to place Purchase Orders over TINA dollar threshold.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • SAP/PRISM based environment experience
  • Experience with technical requirements of non-complex and complex mechanical items
  • Experience in written contractual authorizations and documents
  • Strong professional communication skills with experience in all Microsoft products
  • Leadership skills influence, presence, ability to interface internally and externally with suppliers
  • Well versed in supplier negotiations price, schedules, terms & conditions.
  • Ability to adapt to change and a passion to support the mission
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
What We Offer
  • The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD.
