Job summary

Qualifications

About This Opportunity

All Points North (APN) is seeking a compassionate and experienced Primary Therapist to join our Denver Assessment Center (DAC) clinical team. In this role, you will deliver exceptional trauma and addiction treatment services to clients and families, serving as a vital member of our interdisciplinary treatment team. You'll develop individualized treatment plans, provide individual and group counseling, and guide clients on their path to recovery and lasting change.

The ideal candidate brings clinical expertise in trauma and addiction treatment, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine commitment to helping clients build meaningful aftercare plans. This role is well-suited for a licensed clinician who can manage a caseload independently, collaborate effectively across disciplines, and adapt treatment approaches to meet each client's unique needs and stage of recovery.

This is an on-site position based at our Denver Assessment Center, offering the opportunity to work within a supportive, mission-driven environment where your clinical skills directly impact client outcomes and long-term recovery success.

What You'll Do

• Provide individual and group counseling to clients and families through a trauma-informed lens
• Facilitate psycho-educational, experiential, and process groups that support client learning and healing
• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's needs, stage of change, and recovery goals
• Manage an assigned caseload independently while maintaining timely, accurate progress notes and incident documentation in the EMR system
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary clinical team, case management, referents, and families to create comprehensive aftercare plans and ensure continuity of care
• Attend regular case staffings and treatment plan reviews to monitor client progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Provide therapeutic interventions to individuals, groups, and families, demonstrating flexibility in tailoring treatment strategies to each client's unique circumstances
• Assess client functioning across work, family, and daily living domains to identify areas requiring change, resources, and targeted treatment
• Provide ongoing clinical updates to clients' families and referents to maintain strong communication and support networks
• Complete discharge summaries and facilitate smooth transitions to aftercare services
• Maintain compliance with NAADAC policies, licensing codes of ethics, and all applicable APN policies and regulatory requirements
• Participate in required in-service training, seminars, and professional development opportunities
• Contribute to continuous improvement of department processes and clinical practices
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and APN operations

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in the treatment of individuals with addiction and mental health challenges
• Current professional license or credential (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, PhD, or PsyD)
• Demonstrated ability to manage clinical responsibilities independently and prioritize competing client needs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document clinical information and communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members
• Sound clinical judgment and the ability to recognize when issues require escalation or consultation
• Working knowledge of trauma-informed care, addiction treatment principles, and evidence-based therapeutic practices
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to pass background check, urine drug screen, criminal records screening, and provide appropriate professional references

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with trauma therapy modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
• Training or experience in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy
• Experience with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
• Additional addiction-related certifications or credentials
• Experience mentoring or training newer clinical staff
• Bilingual English/Spanish language skills
