Job summary

Mercy Primary Care Clinic – Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking a Primary Care Nurse to support Providers and manage triage calls for an attributed panel. The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule (0800–1630) with no nights, weekends, or holidays, and a transition to a 50/50 hybrid model after on-site training.

The ideal candidate will have an active LPN or RN license and 2–3 years of experience, with Epic EMR experience and strong triage skills. On-site training is required for initial months.

Qualifications

  • LPN/Licensure: Active LPN license and 2-3 years experience preferred.
  • RN/Licensure: Active RN license; BSN or higher or 4 years commensurate experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree; 2-3 years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Triage calls/messages for the clinic under supervision of Providers.
  • Collaborate with Providers and care team to drive timely, safe patient care.

Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Nurse works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Nurse will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for an attributed panel. Duties and responsibilities will be performed in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details

Mercy Primary Care Clinic - Jefferson

Location: 1400 US Highway 61 Festus, MO 63028

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0800-1630

No nights, weekends, or holidays!

  • Must complete a minimum of three months of on-site training prior to transitioning to a hybrid work-from-home schedule. After training, this role follows a 50/50 hybrid model, with full-time (1.0 FTE) co-workers expected to work on-site five days per pay period. Must also be available to attend monthly on-site clinic meetings.

Our Primary Care Nurse is a newly created role for the clinics. In this position the nurse will work closely with the Providers and manage triage calls/messages for the clinic. They will have the option to move hybrid after training is complete.

LPN Qualifications
  • Education: Diploma in Practical Nursing.
  • Licensure: Active LPN license.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience preferred.
RN Qualifications
  • Education: Associate of Applied Science in Registered Nursing, Graduation from registered nursing program, bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN), OR 4 years of commensurate experience in lieu of the bachelor’s degree.
  • Licensure: Active RN license.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience preferred.

  • Timely and thorough patient triage skills
  • Computer competency (most of this position will be computer work)
