Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from a school approved by VA for the year of completion
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US state, territory, or DC
• Residency training: approved by VA in an accredited core specialty leading to board eligibility
• Exceptions: residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA programs may be appointed and later require board certification for faculty status
