Job summary

The Oregon Department of Corrections is seeking physicians for statewide, part- or full-time opportunities to provide high-quality primary care in a correctional setting. Minimum qualifications include a current physician's license; board certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Physician's license issued by the state board.
• Board certification in internal medicine or family medicine preferred.
• Experience or interest in correctional or underserved community health.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical assessments and develop tailored treatment plans for adults in custody.
• Diagnose and manage acute, urgent, and chronic conditions using evidence-based guidelines.
• Collaborate with nurses, behavioral health clinicians, and other physicians as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide referrals to specialty care and support contract physicians and nurse practitioners.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record and participate in quality improvement.
