At Thundermist Health Center, you'll serve as an independent licensed provider delivering comprehensive medical care to a diverse patient panel. Your days will include managing acute and chronic conditions, coordinating care across disciplines, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation — all in service of a community that counts on you. If you're looking for a role where clinical autonomy meets community impact, this is your opportunity to advance health equity for the populations that need it most.

What You'll Do
  • Provide comprehensive primary medical care to your assigned patient panel, including scheduled appointments, in-patient hospital services, and after-hours call and coverage.
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions using evidence-based clinical judgment within the full scope of your licensure and privileges.
  • Review, document, and manage medical records in accordance with Thundermist policies and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate referred services including laboratory, specialty care, pharmacy, and ancillary services to support integrated patient care.
  • Precept physician residents or nurse practitioners as assigned by Thundermist Health Center.

Collaboration & Professional Development

  • Participate in departmental, team, and full staff meetings to review and develop policies, health care plans, and clinical goals.
  • Maintain compliance with credentialing, re-credentialing, and privileging requirements.
  • Stay current with clinical best practices through ongoing continuing education and professional development.
What We're Looking For

You're a skilled, compassionate clinician who brings both clinical expertise and genuine warmth to every patient interaction. You're motivated by the mission of community health and committed to serving diverse, underserved populations.

  • M.D. or D.O. with a completed minimum three-year residency in family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, or pediatrics.
  • Board Certification in your specialty (or eligibility to achieve certification within two years of start date).
  • Full, unrestricted license to practice medicine as a physician in Rhode Island.
  • Ongoing continuing education to maintain and update clinical skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with proficiency in applicable medical terminology.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered, high-quality care for diverse and underserved populations, and an authentic passion for health equity and community health.
Schedule & Compensation

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) onsite position. 80% of your time will be patient-facing; 20% is dedicated to administrative duties, which can be completed from home or onsite. Clinic hours are Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–8:00pm, and Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm. At least one clinical day per week will include hours after 5:00pm to support patient access. Schedule will also include some periods of 24-hour call and coverage.

Salary: $94.00 – $125.00 per hour
