Job summary

Prisma Health at Blount Memorial Hospital seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary health care to a defined patient population within established protocols. You will follow nursing standards, perform charting, and participate in physician education and quality improvement initiatives.

This on-site role reports to the Practice Operations leadership and requires NP certification and prescriptive authority, plus a DEA license for controlled substances.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent.
• Official NP license in the state of practice; Prescriptive Authority.
• Federal DEA license for controlled substances.

Responsibilities

• Provides primary health care to a specific patient population within written protocols.
• Follows established nursing standards, procedures, and practices.
• Engages in diagnosis and treatment; may recommend or prescribe treatments.
• Performs charting, summaries, correspondence and billing-related documentation.
• Participates in physician educational programs and in managed care initiatives.
• Participates in development of operational and quality improvement programs.
