Job description

We are recruiting a Primary Care Medical Director (PCMD) for a health group that employs approximately 700 physicians and advanced practice providers across 12 hospitals and >120 clinical practice groups. The Physician Leadership Team consists of the Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director of Primary Care, and Medical Director of Specialties.

Based in the capital city of Little Rock, the Primary Care Medical Director will have oversight of ~50 Primary Care Clinics across the state of Arkansas.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  1. Supervisory oversight of 50+ clinical primary care practices.
  2. Direct interaction and partnership with the Population Health Service Organization providing oversight and implementation of value-based care contracts and delivery of care.
  3. Annual or semiannual visits to attend business meetings of each primary care practice to deliver information, address problems, and receive feedback with a focus on value-based care and other initiatives. Direct engagement is key.
  4. Oversee the development and maintenance of a quality improvement process for each primary care practice and all providers. Lead the effort to evaluate each clinic for opportunities and needs for growth to add providers.
  5. Lead the effort to evaluate the potential need for, develop, and open new clinics in new locations.
  6. Review and ensure compliant billing practices and documentation are maintained in all clinics by all providers.
  7. Provider workforce planning and recruitment, as well as the planning and delivery of provider onboarding.
