Job summary

Top Echelon LLC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for an inpatient behavioral hospital in Anchorage, AK. The position offers a flexible 7on/7off block and options for full-time or part-time employment, with autonomy in patient care within licensure.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, initial H&Ps within 24 hours of admission, and discharge planning. Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and staff to create integrated treatment plans and educate patients and families

Qualifications

• Active Alaska NP/APRN license or eligibility.
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• AANPCB Board Certification.
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient or acute care experience (behavioral health a plus).
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities with a patient-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments including initial history and physicals within 24 hours of admission.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to develop integrated treatment plans.
• Co-manage patients with complex medical comorbidities alongside mental health providers.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and lifestyle changes.
• Provide medical consults and order tests and treatments as needed.
• Deliver emergency care within licensure scope until specialized care is available.

What You’ll Do:

• Setting: Inpatient behavioral hospital.
• Full-time or part-time position available.
• Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, including initial history and physicals (H&Ps) within 24 hours of admission, follow-ups, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to create integrated treatment plans addressing medical and mental health needs.
• Co-manage patients with complex medical comorbidities alongside mental health providers.
• Educate patients and families on medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle adjustments to enhance overall health.
• Provide medical consults and recommend diagnostic tests and treatments as needed.
• Deliver emergency care within your licensure scope until specialized care is available.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Licensure: Active Alaska NP/APRN license or the ability to obtain licensure.
2. Education: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
3. Certification: AANPCB Board Certification.
4. Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-training experience in an inpatient or acute care setting preferred (behavioral health experience a plus).
