Mercy Hospital Southeast in Jackson, MO is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to provide patient care using the nursing process under supervision of a physician or NP. The role includes medication refills, assisting with treatments, and coordinating patient care with other departments.

You'll support clinic appointments and patient phone calls while upholding patient rights and confidentiality. This full-time opportunity offers day shifts in the Jackson Primary Care Clinic.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Licensed as an LPN in the state of practice.
• IV Certification within 1 year of hire.

The position serves as a lead role within the departments working in conjunction with the practice manager. Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner licensed by a State regulatory board to refill medication and assist with treatment. Maintains professional accountability for provision during clinic appointments and patient phone calls. Coordinates the patient care/testing/procedures in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.

Licensure: Licensed as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) in the state of practice.

Certification(s)

Preferred Qualifications:

NOTE: One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:

• ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• IV Certification within 1 year of hire.
• Other unit-specific certifications as required.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
