Job summary

Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance is seeking a part-time Priest Chaplain (Spiritual Care) to serve patients, families, and staff in Torrance, CA. The role emphasizes Catholic sacramental ministry and compassionate spiritual support within the Spiritual Care Department.

The chaplain will report to the Director of the Spiritual Care Department and support daily 8-hour day shifts in a hospital setting, with a focus on patient-centered, whole-person care.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Theology/Spirituality/Pastoral Ministry is required.
• Completion of 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education is preferred or in progress.
• National Chaplain Certification must be achieved within 3 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Minister to the religious, spiritual, and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff, with emphasis on Catholic sacramental needs.
• Report to the Director of the Spiritual Care Department.

Priest Chaplain - Spiritual Care at Providence Little Company of Mary Torrance in Torrance, CA. This position is part-time and will work 8-hour, Day shifts.

The Roman Catholic Priest Chaplain is an ordained priest granted faculties by the local Catholic Bishop. As an integral part of the Spiritual Care Department, he ministers to the religious, spiritual, and emotional needs of patients, families and staff of St. Jude Medical Center OR St. Joseph of Orange, placing special emphasis on the sacramental needs of Catholic patients. The priest chaplain reports to the Director of the Spiritual Care Department.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's DegreeinTheology/Spirituality/Pastoral Ministry.
• Coursework/Training:Completed (preferred) or in the process of completing 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
• Within 3 years of hire: National Chaplain Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Several years of pastoral experience following ordination.
