Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte is seeking a Pricing Data Engineer in San Francisco to build and optimize data-driven pricing across the firm. You will design scalable workflows, centralize pricing data, and collaborate on AI-enabled pricing strategies to improve forecasting and decision making.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and Python skills with experience building scalable workflows and data pipelines.
• Experience with AI platforms, automation tools, or AI-enabled workflows.
• Knowledge of cloud data warehouses and cloud-based data platforms and data visualization/reporting tools.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritise responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable pricing workflows for matter scoping, budgeting and financial analysis.
• Build and maintain a centralized pricing data infrastructure across multiple systems.
• Support pricing strategies for AI-enabled legal services and new delivery models.
• Develop and manage data pipelines and queries for pricing analysis and reporting.
• Modernize pricing workflows by reducing manual processes with scalable solutions.
• Design and deliver pricing tools including budget builders and scenario modeling.
• Integrate AI capabilities into pricing workflows for better analysis and forecasting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable data-driven pricing and monitoring.
• Establish feedback loops to track performance and improve pricing models.
• Develop pricing frameworks and unit economics to support AI-enabled work.
• Design pricing processes to be executable with AI tools.
• Maintain a centralized pricing data layer for consistent access and usability.
• Enhance data granularity for pricing analysis across phase, task, and resource levels.
• Ensure governance and transparency across pricing data, tools, and methodologies.
