Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte is seeking a Pricing Data Engineer to build and maintain data infrastructure and AI-enabled pricing capabilities across the firm. You will design scalable workflows, pipelines, and centralized data layers to support pricing analysis and governance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision making.

The role emphasizes modernizing workflows, reducing manual steps, and enabling partners to price and monitor matters with advanced analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field; strong technical foundation required.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with experience building scalable data pipelines and automations.
• Experience with AI platforms, automation tools, or AI-enabled workflows is preferred.
• Knowledge of cloud data warehouses and cloud-based data platforms and data visualization/reporting tools is preferred.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills; ability to work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable pricing workflows supporting matter scoping, budgeting, and financial analysis across the firm.
• Build and maintain a centralized pricing data infrastructure consolidating data from multiple systems.
• Support development and maintenance of pricing strategies for AI-enabled legal services and emerging models.
• Develop and manage data pipelines and queries to support pricing analysis and reporting.
• Modernize pricing workflows by reducing manual processes and implementing scalable solutions.
• Design and deliver pricing tools, including budget builders and scenario modeling interfaces.
• Integrate AI capabilities into pricing workflows to enhance analysis and forecasting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for data-driven pricing monitoring of matters.
• Establish feedback loops to track performance and improve pricing models, tools, and methodologies.
• Develop pricing frameworks and unit economics to price, monitor, and refine AI-enabled work.
