Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP seeks a Pricing Analyst to support lawyers with structuring, modeling and negotiating fee arrangements and matter budgets. The role focuses on data-driven pricing and revenue cycle improvements in a fast-paced professional services environment.

The candidate will develop rate proposals, assist with RFP pricing, and provide regular pricing analyses and templates. Strong Excel/PowerPoint skills and prior professional services experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting orFinance required.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop rate proposals, AFAs, fee estimates, matter budgets and pricing options for client requests.
• Assist in responding to pricing and financial components of RFPs and pitches.
• Support the annual billing rate setting process and benchmark standard hourly rates.
• Prepare analysis of historical matters to support pricing and budgeting.
• Provide regular reporting to support firm, client and matter management needs.
• Develop/enhance financial templates and pricing models.
• Participate in team training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Track and organize pricing-related information and templates.

Job description

The Pricing Analyst works with team leadership to support our lawyers with structuring, modeling and negotiating client and matter level fee arrangements, client matter management, and various other initiatives to enhance the strategic pricing goals of the Pricing Team and the Firm. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, enjoys working with data, and is eager to learn about pricing and the revenue cycle in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support in developing rate proposals, alternative fee arrangements, fee estimates, matter budgets and pricing options in response to client requests.
• Assist in responding to the pricing and financial components of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other business development pitches.
• Provide support for the annual billing rate setting process and perform ongoing benchmarking analysis and maintenance of standard hourly billing rates throughout the year.
• Prepare analysis of historical matters, to support the pricing and budgeting process
• Provide analysis and regular reporting to support firm, client and/or matter management needs.
• Develop/enhance financial templates and models to expand upon and streamline existing processes surrounding the Firm’s pricing function.
• Participate in team training sessions and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Support team efforts to track and organize pricing-related information and templates.
• Communicate proactively with team members to clarify requirements and meet deadlines.

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
• A minimum of 2 years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Advanced capabilities and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred:

• Previous experience working in a client facing position or a professional services firm

The target salary range for this role is:

$88,000 - $96,000 if located in Illinois.

Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
