Job summary

U-Haul in Bakersfield, CA seeks a preventive maintenance technician to service Ford and GMC trucks, performing routine maintenance and minor repairs to keep our fleet safe and reliable.

You will work on lifts, perform oil changes, tire and brake work, and occasionally road-test vehicles. Training through Ford, GMC, and U-Haul programs is available, and tools are provided to help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude required.
• Driver’s license required.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
• Regular attendance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
• Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes and replace minor parts.
• Perform tire and brake maintenance.
• Occasionally road-test vehicles.
• Use a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
• Assist in other areas as needed under supervision.
