Job summary

U-Haul International, Inc. is looking for a Preventive Maintenance Technician to ensure that our fleet of Ford and GMC trucks remains in top condition. Responsibilities include securing trucks, lubricating parts, and performing maintenance tasks.

The ideal candidate should have basic mechanical aptitude, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Opportunities for advancement and valuable training are provided.

U-Haul seeks skilled technicians for preventive maintenance on Ford and GMC trucks, ensuring our fleet remains in top condition.

Primary Responsibilities

• Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
• Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes and replace minor parts.
• Perform tire and brake maintenance.
• Occasionally road-test vehicles.
• Use a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
• Assist in additional areas as needed following supervisor guidance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude and repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
• Basic computer skills.

Physical Demands

While performing duties, you should be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs, assisted or unassisted, and be able to move frequently, standing, sitting, and working beneath equipment.
