Job summary

U-Haul International, Inc. is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Technician in Minnesota to maintain the newest fleet of trucks.

You will perform preventive maintenance on Ford and GMC vehicles, participate in the Technician Training Program, and use U-Haul technology to assess and care for field vehicles. Primary responsibilities include securing trucks on lifts, lubricating suspensions, oil changes, tire and brake service, and occasional road tests.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude and repair experience preferred.
• Driver’s license.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
• Basic computer skills.
• Regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
• Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes and replace minor parts.
• Perform tire and brake maintenance.
• Occasionally road-test vehicles.
• Use a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
• Lend assistance in additional areas as directed by supervisor.

You will also be able to continue to grow through our Technician Training Program, using classes from Ford, GMC and U-Haul itself. U-Haul will provide you with the tools needed to do your job. As a U-Haul preventive maintenance technician, you will use U-Haul Company’s proprietary technology to assess and care for field vehicles. U-Haul will provide the support and tools you need to succeed and grow, so if you want a job with endless opportunities for career growth.

Primary Responsibilities

• Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.

• Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.

Work Environment

The work involves manual labor and the ability to work safely and to be alert at all times. You may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, safety shoes, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties required, you should be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted. You will also be moving frequently, standing, sitting and moving beneath equipment.

Pay Range is: $18.25 - $20.28 Hourly
