Job summary

Walmart Transportation seeks a Preventative Maintenance Technician to maintain a safe, reliable fleet. You will perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop equipment, following DOT guidelines.

You will create work orders, document actions, and ensure compliance while communicating progress to the team. The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, ability to diagnose needs, and strong adherence to safety procedures, with benefits

Qualifications

• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Brake inspection qualified as defined in FMCSA regulations.
• Vehicle inspection qualified as defined in FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment (trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles).
• Create and process work orders; assess needs, identify parts, and select repair solutions.
• Repair/replace brake components, wheel seals, and tractor-trailer tires per DOT requirements.
• Communicate updates and complete required logs, records, and computer-based documentation.
• Receive fuel drops, monitor safety compliance, and collect/prepare fuel samples and paperwork.
