Job summary

Genesis is seeking an Infection Preventionist (LPN/LVN) to lead infection prevention and control efforts under the direction of a registered nurse. This role focuses on infection prevention activities, outbreak management, and employee health within long-term care settings.

The ideal candidate will have a nursing license (LPN/LVN), specialized training in infection prevention, and at least three years of nursing experience, with preference for long-term care and supervisory exposure.

Responsibilities

• As an Infection Preventionist -LPN/LVN! Under the direction of a RN, you will be responsible for one or multiple centers Infection Prevention and Control Program and will function as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator and facilitator for all staff focusing on the following areas: Infection Prevention - Control Activities, Outbreak Management, Employee Health and Outcome - Process Surveillance. The latter includes identifying, investigating, analyzing, controlling and reporting infections.

Qualifications

• LPN/LVN must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current practical or vocational nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing.
• Must complete specialized training in infection prevention and control.
• A minimum of three years full-time or equivalent nursing experience is required and a minimum of two years of nursing experience in long-term care nursing with one year in a management/administrative or supervisory capacity is preferred.
• Previous Experience In Infection Prevention And Control Is Preferred.
• Must be able to work flexible hours in order to meet with employees working evening and night shifts.
