As Prevention Director, the primary duty is managing a department of the agency; and regularly supervising the work of other employees. Under general supervision of the VP of Community Services and Strategic Planning, responsible for the daily operations and all services for the Prevention Department. Provide leadership and management to the Prevention Program, continuously developing the program and managing Prevention staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following.

AGENCY ADVOCATE (10%)
MARGINAL DUTIES (5%) includes the following:
Supervises Prevention Specialists and Grant Coordinators.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Master’s degree in human services or public health, four years of management experience and experience working in the field of Prevention Services; or a bachelor’s degree in same and six years of management experience. Credentialed as a Senior Prevention Specialist is preferred or will substitute status as a Certified Health Education Specialist, CHES, with ability to gain status of an ICRC Certified Senior Prevention Specialist within three years.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, other service providers, staff, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
