Job summary

Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores Inc. is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician I in Lawton, OK. The role focuses on preventive maintenance across store facilities, HVAC, fuel equipment, and related systems on a regular schedule.

Primary duties include following supervisor instructions, adhering to OSHA standards, completing maintenance tasks, keeping records, and assisting team members via calls and emails. Travel and hands-on mechanical work are involved.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of HVAC, fueling systems, or mechanical experience preferred.

• Carry out assignments and instructions from supervisor in a competent and efficient manner.
• Operate within OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Work safely with priority on personal and team safety.
• Complete preventive maintenance on assigned equipment per best practices.
• Maintain records and reports in a timely manner.
• Account for supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Perform site inspections and report issues to Love's managers.
• Assist team by responding to questions via phone and emails.
• Keep tools and equipment clean, safe, and functional.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preventative Maintenance Technician I - Lawton, OK

Location: Oklahoma City, OK, US, 73120

Basic Purpose: This primary purpose of this position is to complete preventative maintenance tasks on store facilities such as HVAC, compressors, shop vehicles, fuel equipment, and other various equipment on a regular schedule.

• $16-18/hour (this position is eligible for overtime pay)
• Annual bonus eligibility, Paid Time Off (PTO includes vacation time, personal, and sick), 401(k) matching, medical/dental/vision/life insurance

Job Functions:

• Carry out assignments and instructions from supervisor(s) in a competent and efficient manner.
• Be aware of and always operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies.
• Work in a safe manner with personal safety and the safety of others as the number one priority.
• Complete all required preventative maintenance on assigned equipment at stores in accordance with Love’s and/or the manufacturers best practices.
• Complete records and reports as required in a timely manner.
• Account for supplies, materials, and equipment as required.
• Site Inspections and report issues to appropriate Love’s managers.
• Work with the team in place to answer questions on the phone and through emails.
• Knowledge of general maintenance duties is a plus.
• Candidates will need to be self-motivated with the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
• Basic troubleshooting and repair of Love’s fuel system.
• Keep Love’s provided truck, tools, and provided equipment clean, safe, and in good working order.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

Experience and Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years of experience with maintenance is preferred.
• 1-2 years of HVAC, fueling systems, or mechanical experience is preferred.

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to take direction.
• Basic computer and smart phone skills to answer emails, voicemails, and open and close tickets via app-based platforms.

Typical Physical Demands:

• Extensive travel.
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license required.
• Travel coast to coast with extended nights away from home.
• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Manual dexterity enough to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
• Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
