Job summary

UNACEM North America is seeking a maintenance technician for our cement plant. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, inspections, and safe operation in a demanding environment.

The candidate will perform area inspections, troubleshoot equipment, and coordinate with contractors. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a technical/associate degree preferred, and about 5 years of maintenance experience in cement or mining.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Area Inspections of the plant to conform to a predictive maintenance mindset.
  • Inspect completed work for conformity to regulations and ensure tests are done before turnover to production.
  • Perform preventative maintenance repairs on cement plant equipment (roller presses, crushers, ball mills, pumps, compressors, etc.).
  • Analyze jobs with focus on safety and properly execute a JHA and WAE.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform proper repairs.
  • Set up equipment for jobs performed by contractors.
  • Maintain records, produce reports, and follow inspection schedules with Maintenance Management.
  • Analyze procedures and seek improvements in the area.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A technical or Associate degree is preferred.
  • 5 years of maintenance experience, preferred, with prior experience in the cement or mining industry desirable.
