Air Comfort, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator & Preventative Maintenance Technician to support production flow and machinery longevity. This hybrid role suits candidates skilled with heavy equipment and hands-on mechanical work, emphasizing safety, teamwork, and attention to detail.

You will operate wheel loaders and other heavy gear, perform routine maintenance, and document service intervals, hours, and parts used. This position blends fieldwork with shop tasks in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience operating wheel loaders or similar heavy production equipment.
• Demonstrated mechanical maintenance and repair aptitude.
• Ability to safely use pneumatic and hand tools.
• Strong commitment to safety, including LOTO compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (wheel loaders, excavators) to move materials and load trucks.
• Monitor and adjust processing machinery (trommel screens, tub grinders, bagging equipment) for performance.
• Move finished pallets and organize yard using forklifts.
• Collaborate with yard team to maintain uninterrupted materials flow through grinding, screening and bagging.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance: inspections, greasing, fluid top-offs, oil/filter changes.
• Conduct basic mechanical repairs (edges, teeth, belts, wear plates, screens, conveyors).
• Inspect hydraulic systems for wear and leaks; replace hoses as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and document service intervals and hours.
• Ensure accurate maintenance logs and parts usage.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment, including wheel loaders and excavators, to move materials, feed processing equipment, and load trucks.
• Monitor and adjust processing machinery such as trommel screens, tub grinders, and automated bagging equipment to optimize performance.
• Handle materials using forklifts to move finished pallets, load flatbeds, and organize the yard or warehouse.
• Collaborate with the yard team to maintain an uninterrupted flow of materials through grinding, screening, and bagging phases.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, including daily inspections, greasing, fluid top-offs, and scheduled oil and filter changes on all fleet assets.
• Conduct basic mechanical repairs, such as replacing loader bucket teeth, cutting edges, wear plates, screens, belts, and conveyor components.
• Inspect hydraulic systems for wear, identify leaks, and replace or fabricate hydraulic hoses as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by clearing debris, blowing out radiators, and performing general housekeeping around equipment.
• Accurately document service intervals, hours worked, and parts used in maintenance logs.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience operating wheel loaders or similar heavy production equipment.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with experience in basic machinery maintenance and repair.
• Ability to safely use pneumatic and hand tools.
• Strong commitment to safety, including adherence to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) protocols and heavy machinery safety standards.
• Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify early signs of equipment wear or failure.
• Physically able to lift up to 70 lbs, climb on and off large machinery, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
