Hugg and Hall Equipment Company is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Tech to perform field maintenance on various equipment and to travel within a designated territory. You will diagnose and service equipment, ensuring high availability and customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, customer service ability, and a safety-first approach. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are expected as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year hands-on experience as a service technician/mechanic in material handling equipment or mechanical training/education.
• Experience with material handling equipment or related industry preferred.
• Mechanical training/education acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on field equipment to prolong its lifespan.
• Communicate progress with customers and internal teams including Sales, Coordinators and Managers.
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow all safety laws, policies and rules.

Hugg and Hall Equipment Company is looking for someone with mechanical knowledge and customer service skills to join our team as a Preventative Maintenance Tech in the field.

About The Position

PM Field Service Mechanics perform routine maintenance on various types of customer and company-owned material handling equipment within a designated territory.

In This Role, You Will

• Perform preventative maintenance tasks on various types of construction equipment in the field to prolong its lifespan.
• Continuously communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and co-workers including Salespeople, Coordinators, and Managers regarding job progress and general updates.
• Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety laws, policies and rules, both on-site and during the operation of company vehicles.

Strong mechanical aptitude, strong customer service skills, a professional demeanor, and a safety-first mentality are all key.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months to 1-year hands‑on experience as a service technician/mechanic in the material handling equipment industry, or mechanical training/education, or experience in a related industry
• Have your own complete line of tools including specialized tools needed to complete the job at the customer site
• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Minimum 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent

Other Skills We Are Looking For

• Technical aptitude/experience in hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with equipment operation
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment
• Ability to read or be trained in reading schematics
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

This Position

• will be working in operating facilities and outdoors traveling to customer locations. The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures. The normal auto hazards will apply.
• will be frequently working on equipment with potential hazards where appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.
• must be able to lift 50 pounds. Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.
• requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling.
• requires bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting handling/fingering on a daily basis.
• requires driving a van/truck to and from customer locations
• must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
