Job summary

Polk County BoCC is seeking a Pretrial Interviewer in the Court Services Division. You will interview defendants booked into the Polk County Jail to collect demographic information for the First Appearance documentation package and coordinate with agencies to assemble a complete report for the First Appearance Judge.

Responsibilities include obtaining detailed demographics, verifying data with CJIS/NCIC/FCIC, reviewing release status, and preparing the necessary forms and memos to support court

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited high school or equivalent; proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and data management.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver license at or soon after employment.
• Police/criminal justice environment knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview defendants booked in Polk County Jail during pretrial phase.
• Obtain and verify demographic information: name, aliases, address, age, race, employment, education, health, and criminal history.
• Verify information through CJIS, NCIC/FCIC and other approved methods.
• Review pretrial release status and report open cases to the court.
• Prepare and complete required forms, reports, and memorandums.
