Job summary

IDEX is hiring for a manufacturing press operator in Farmington, CT. The role covers setup and operation of single-level compaction presses, running 3 Ton presses, and performing in-process and final inspections to ensure product quality.

You will switch between roles daily and drive continuous improvement in a value-stream environment. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma, 1–3 years in manufacturing, and basic tooling/measurement knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous press setup experience preferred.
• Ability to set up and run compaction presses.
• Meet tight production requirements and react in real time.

Responsibilities

• Set up of various (single level) compaction presses.
• Run and monitor 3 Ton presses; in process inspection and adjustment, tray loading, furnace operation & monitoring powder levels.
• Perform first piece, in-process and final inspection steps including visual sorting, flow testing, length, OD, Burr, etc.
• Meet tight production requirements across long running production and react in real time to stay within the requirements.
• Ability to switch between the 2 roles / pitches in the cell on a daily basis.
• Embracing a value stream approach in the role; ability to execute the entire process from setup through pressing and inspection.
