Job summary

Wolverine Industries is hiring for 12-hour continental shifts (6 p.m.–6 a.m.) on a production/warehouse floor. Responsibilities include staging and moving materials, loading/unloading, inventory control, and ensuring safety and accuracy on deliveries.

Qualifications

• Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries.
• Labeling every product and placing them accordingly.
• Identifying and locating the right products during the delivery process.
• Maintaining stock and inventory records.
• Handling returns with proper documentation.
• Operate and maintain material handling equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Staging prepack material in the packing queue in line with the shipment schedule.
• Removing bundles of packed goods from the packing line to the shipping area.
• Load and unload the age oven, manage the queue systems for material flow.
• Replace full racks with empty racks as needed.
• Loading finished goods onto trailers/trucks and assisting with loads.
• Manage scrap movement from presses/packing to scrap trailers and ensure safe loading.

Learn more skills, earn more money!

• Staging prepack material in the packing queue in a manner that coincides with the shipment schedule.


• Removing bundles of packed goods from the packing line to the shipping area.


• Remove full pre-age material racks from finish saws at the extrusion press to the pre-age queue area.


• Replace full racks with empty racks.


• Loading finished goods onto trailers/trucks assisting driver with load positions. Unloading deliveries such as supplies, logs etc.


• Manage scrap movement from presses/packing to scrap trailers, ensuring trailers are properly and safely loaded.


• Load and unload the age oven, manage the queue systems in place to ensure material is properly managed per the quality management system.


• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Handling returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.


• Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance


• Conveying purchasing requirements and keeping data on the availability of products in short supply


• Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products.

Skills & Education

• High School Diploma/GED


• Ability to achieve forklift and crane certifications (prior forklift and side loader experience a plus).


• Manufacturing experience working in industrial production is strongly preferred.


• Must be available for nights and weekends with occasional overtime.


• Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals.


• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.


• Good communication skills


• Willingness to always comply with safety policies.


• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.


• Attend all safety and production trainings.


• You will need to be reliable and punctual.

Essential Physical Functions

• Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.


• Ability to perform physical tasks that are repetitive.


• Ability to do work requiring standing with frequent stooping, bending, reaching overhead and sufficient manual dexterity to perform all aspects of the job.


• Ability to lift, move parts and equipment up to 50 pounds.


• Able to work 12 hour shifts primarily standing.
