Job summary

MCC in Algoma, WI is seeking a Press Operator to manufacture printed labels while ensuring quality and efficient press operation. You will adhere to safety rules, conduct quality checks, and maintain a clean, organized work area on a daily basis.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of press operation experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the physical ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repeated manual tasks. Join MCC and contribute to premium labeling leadership.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in printing press operation and/or training.
• Physical demands include standing, using hands, reaching, talking and hearing.
• Regular walking required.
• Occasionally climbing, bending, kneeling or crouching.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, procedures and guidelines.
• Report safety concerns to supervisor.
• Maintain clean and safe work area with daily housekeeping.
• Complete makeready per Job Ticket and Product Specification documents.
• Perform press-side quality checks and inspections of color, copy, registration and adhesion.
• Operate press to meet customer specifications while monitoring quality and waste.
• Ensure consistency of quality during production runs.
• Complete equipment maintenance duties and required procedures on the press.
• Input material usage and time data into GlobeTek system accurately.

ThePress Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.

Responsibilities:

• OurPrintingPress Operators must adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines.
• Reports all safety concerns or issues to their immediate supervisor.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment and area by completing daily housekeeping assignments.
• Completes make-readyin accordance withthe Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, andaniloxrollers are used.
• Responsible for completing all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks. Completes all press-side quality checks.
• Operates press to produce product in accordance to customer specifications whilemaintainquality, waste, and press efficiency.
• Maintains consistent quality during the production run. Critical quality checks includes: copy, color, and registration, and ink adhesion. Ensure conformance to all other quality checks.
• Responsible for completing all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard.
• Completes press makeready’sin an efficient manner.
• Completes all required equipment maintenance duties.
• Cleans plate, cylinder, and ink pans, and lubricates press as needed.
• Inputs all required information into theGlobeTeksystem for material usage and time inan accurateand prompt manner.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years as a printing press operator experience and/or training.
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
