Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate large-format digital printing equipment per job specs.
  • Review work orders, verify stock, artwork, color, and quantities.

  • Monitor print quality, color consistency, registration, and image quality.
  • Identify defects and machine issues; involve maintenance when needed.
  • Perform daily startup/shutdown and routine preventive maintenance.
  • Complete roll or sheet changes while minimizing waste.
  • Maintain production logs and equipment maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with Prepress, Scheduling, Maintenance, and Finishing to keep jobs moving.
  • Adhere to safety procedures including lockout/tagout and chemical handling.

Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is looking for a Press / Print Operating Technician to join the team in Duluth, GA.

Work Authorization:

Your Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate large-format digital printing equipment, including the EFI Nozomi, according to job specifications.
  • Review work orders and verify stock, artwork, color requirements, and production quantities before beginning each job.
  • Initiate and run jobs according to the production schedule.
  • Monitor print quality throughout production, including color consistency, registration, image quality, and overall accuracy against specifications.
  • Identify print defects, press alarms, and mechanical issues and take prompt action to correct problems or involve Maintenance when needed.
  • Perform daily startup, shutdown, routine maintenance, and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Complete roll or sheet changes while minimizing downtime and material waste.
  • Meet established standards for output, uptime, waste, spoilage, and quality.
  • Maintain accurate production logs, quality documentation, and equipment maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with Prepress, Scheduling, Maintenance, and Finishing to keep jobs moving through production.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and proper chemical handling.

Your Shift: 1st Shift; Monday - Friday

You Must Have:

  • 2+ years of experience operating digital or commercial printing equipment
  • Previous experience operating a large-format digital press
  • Experience with color management, registration, and print quality inspection
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Ability to read and understand production work orders and technical specifications
  • Basic computer skills for production software, job tracking, and reporting
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively with other departments
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work within production deadlines

Requirements Within This Position:

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
  • Constantly operates machinery and handles products, including print materials
  • Frequently required to move inside the facility
  • Regularly move up to 50 pounds by lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or carrying
  • Ability to stand for extended periods

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Experience with HP Indigo, HP PageWide, Durst, or similar large-format digital printing equipment
  • Experience with corrugated packaging or POP display manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S workplace organization
