Job SummaryThe Press Operator is responsible for assisting in the running of the press and reporting any issues to the supervisor. The operator is proficient in operating the back of the press.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms inspections of company products to determine conformance with specificationsEnsures that inks are at viscosity and maintained every 15 minutesUtilizes standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges and measuring devices to program, load and operate the pressKeeps the ink room clean and orderlyPerforms press maintenance and complies with safety measuresKeeps trash and scrap in proper containersEnsures that cores, cartons, and skids are ready before next order startsCleans impression rolls before the start of each new run and during any downtimeKeeps a supply of material to feed press, as well as checking size and treatmentMaintains a clean, neat, and safe work area, which includes keeping ink off the floor and wallsWorks well in a team environmentAdheres to all Company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsWorks scheduled shifts with predictable and reliable attendance, adhering to department schedulePerforms various special projects and other duties as assignedQualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GEDWorking ConditionsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
