Job summary

The House Committee on Veterans' Affairs seeks a Press/Digital Intern for Spring 2027 semester. This in-person role is based in Washington, DC and supports communications for a Congressional veteran affairs committee.

The ideal candidate will have strong written and oral communication, familiarity with social media, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while learning about the legislative process and veteran-focused policy.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Experience with social media platforms and digital content is preferred.
• Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Compile and distribute morning press clips.
• Track media hits for Committee members.
• Assist with video shoots.
• Create messaging packets and digital toolkits.
• Draft remarks, press releases, and video scripts.
• Develop social media content.
• Clip floor and hearing remarks from members.
• Provide administrative support (greeting visitors, answering calls and emails).
• Support other tasks as assigned.
