Job summary

Laborup in Nashville is seeking Press Brake Operators to set up and run CNC press brakes — Trumpf and Safan-Darley — forming metal details and architectural products. You’ll read drawings, meet tight tolerances and inspect parts before they leave the station.

Join a team with four 10-hour days on 2nd shift, Monday–Thursday, and unlimited overtime. Earn between $22 and $26 per hour, with overtime driving earnings toward $60k–$70k annually.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience setting up CNC press brakes essential.
• Experience operating CNC press brakes essential.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and tolerances.
• Proficient in using calipers, protractors and tapes.
• Forklift and overhead crane operation experience.
• Ability to load material and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC press brakes for each new part.
• Operate the press brake to maintain specified angles and dimensions.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and tolerances.
• Upload, run and adjust programs at the controller.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Load raw material with forklift and/or overhead crane.
• Package finished parts per customer requirements.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and monitor machine condition.

Overview

We're hiring Press Brake Operators for our architectural metal fabrication shop in Nashville.

You’ll set up and run CNC press brakes — Trumpf and Safan-Darley — forming metal details and architectural products. Work comes off mechanical drawings with tight angle and dimension tolerances. Most jobs are custom rather than repeat production runs, so setups change often and you inspect your own parts before they leave the station.

Profiles encouraged to apply: experienced CNC press brake operators, precision sheet metal fabricators, machine operators with setup experience, and tradespeople with strong mechanical and machine operation backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Blueprint Reading: Work from mechanical drawings and part tolerances.
• Program Handling: Upload, run, and adjust programs at the controller.
• Inspection: Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Material Handling: Load raw material using forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Packaging: Package finished parts to customer-specific requirements.
• Preventive Maintenance: Follow PM schedules and monitor press brake condition.

• Basic programming at the machine controller
• Experience running other fabrication equipment
• Basic computer navigation skills
• Precision sheet metal fabrication background
