Job summary

RRD in Wisconsin is seeking a Press Assistant for night shifts (10 PM–6 AM, Mon–Fri). Training on 1st shift precedes transition to 3rd shift. Starting pay is $17.00–$19.00 per hour plus a $3 shift differential.

You will prepare the press by verifying job specs, inspect printing equipment, maintain paper inventory, and ensure rolls are ready to splice. You’ll work with press operators and maintenance staff, troubleshoot, and perform make-readies as needed with safety and ISO guidelines in mind.

• Previous experience in a printing environment preferred.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the press for a run by verifying job specs and setup.
• Inspect fountain solution, inking systems, paper rolls, and reel mechanisms.
• Maintain inventory of paper; record usage and spoilage on SPC report.
• Ensure paper rolls are unwrapped, mounted, and ready to splice.
• Monitor paper flow and install new rolls as needed.
• Assist with make-readies and color adjustments per location; follow safety policies.

Job Description

Shift: 10 PM to 6:00 AM Monday - Friday with OT as required

• Position will need to spend time training on 1st shift prior to transition to 3rd shift

Starting Pay Range: $17.00/hr - $19.00/hr +3$/hr Shift Differential

• Prepares the press for a run by verifying job specs and setting up the press accordingly.
• Inspects the fountain solution, inking systems, rolls of paper and the mechanisms related to the reels.
• Maintains proper inventory of paper. Records usage and spoilage on SPC report.
• Ensures that the roll of paper is properly unwrapped, mounted and ready to be spliced.
• Monitors the flow of paper throughout the run. Prepares and installs new roll when necessary.
• Works in conjunction with the press operators and other assigned Press Assistants in the preventative maintenance of the presses. Assists maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and making repairs to press.
• May assist with make-readies.
• May adjust ink, solvent, and varnish to ensure that proper color is established or maintained as required by location.
• Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
• It is the responsibility of all Solution Delivery employees to follow the requirements of their documented process as defined in the ISO Quality Manual.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a printing environment preferred. Some experience in the operation of various hand tools preferred
• Must be able to work in a team environment

Additional Information

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $17.00 to $19.00 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location.
