Job summary

Bayhealth is seeking a Foundation President to design and lead comprehensive fundraising and sponsored project programs that support the hospital’s mission and long-range goals. The role directs fund management and works closely with Bayhealth Foundation leadership and boards to drive financial support and strategic philanthropic initiatives.

The position requires at least 10 years in senior fundraising roles, with a track record of major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required; ten years in senior fundraising roles.
• Experience in major gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations.
• Development and communications experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maximize philanthropic support for Bayhealth and affiliates through programs (annual giving, events, grants, major gifts).
• Advance estate planning support through Society membership and planned giving.
• Design and implement comprehensive fundraising programs aligned with Bayhealth’s mission and long-range goals.
• Generate financial support and oversee fund management and allocations.
• Collaborate with Bayhealth Foundation leadership to develop strategic fundraising plans and time-bound objectives.

General Summary:

The Foundation President, Bayhealth (Foundation President) is responsible for the design and implementation of comprehensive fundraising and sponsored project programs to support the mission and long-range strategic goals of Bayhealth, Inc. The Foundation President generates financial support for service programs and directs a program of fund management and funds allocation. The Foundation President works closely with the leadership of the Bayhealth Foundation Board of Directors and is elected by them to serve as the President of the Bayhealth Foundation.

Responsibilities:

• Maximize the philanthropic support of Bayhealth and its not-for-profit affiliates through a series of programmatic initiatives, including, but not limited to, annual giving, special events, grants acquisition, major gifts acquisition and the development and execution of various planned giving instruments.


• The Bayhealth Foundation recognizes individuals who have made a commitment to include the hospital in their estate planning through membership in the Boone-Chipman Society.


• Responsible for the design and implementation of comprehensive fundraising and sponsored project programs to support the mission and long- range strategic goals of Bayhealth, Inc.


• Generates financial support for service programs and directs a program of fund management and funds allocation.


• Works closely with the leadership of the Bayhealth Foundation Board of Directors and provides supervision, direction, and oversight to the Foundation staff to support the Bayhealth Foundation.


• Work in collaboration with the president and CEO of Bayhealth Medical Center, Inc., the Bayhealth Foundation Board of Directors, and the Cancer Institute Board of Directors to develop short- and long-term philanthropic strategies based on health system requirements and develop and implement a strategic plan with specific objectives and timeframes to support the goals and mission of Bayhealth.


• Direct the planning and solicitation of major giving, annual, capital campaign, and planned giving programs, as well as the continuation of a variety of special events.


• Work to ensure the coordination of fundraising activities with the requirements and long-range plans as approved by the Bayhealth Foundation Board of Directors and will work closely with the campaign general chair. Further, the individual will evaluate and coordinate the sponsored project programs with other fundraising efforts.


• All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

• Education: Bachelor Degree


• Experience: Required: Ten (10) years of relevant experience as a senior fundraising officer with demonstrated record of accomplishment in raising major gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations. Development and communications experience required.

Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

• Education: Master Degree
